I've been watching "Irene" since before she was Irene and now it looks like she "could" be heading our way. Here is the five day forecast, bringing her right to Charleston as a category 3 hurricane Saturday morning.
If there is one thing I have learned since moving to Charleston thirty years ago, no one knows for sure where they are going until maybe 10 hours before making landfall. A lot can happen between now and Saturday, so we'll keep watching and in a few days, decide what we need to do if anything!
Well I sure hope this avoids you Nan, take care.
ReplyDeleteScary. Sure hope it moves back out towards the sea and away from you guys. Be safe!
ReplyDeleteI'm watching Irene as well. I live in SC and remember all to well when hurricane Hugo hit Charleston
ReplyDeleteI know just what you mean, Nan! This is definitely the time to keep watch on those storms, even the tropical storms, not just the hurricanes. Let's hope Irene heads further East and doesn't make landfall at all!

I hope it dissipates before it reaches land...please keep us posted. Pinterest is so much fun with you...I love the stuff you find-lol!

I wish she would come closer to Texas and leave just a dab of rain. Do not want storms anywhere.
ReplyDeleteI hope she's not a hurricane any longer by the time she gets to Charleston. But I really hope we at least get rain from this.
ReplyDeleteWe were in Charleston years ago and I still remember the signs of damage that remained from a hurricane.
I can't imagine living with that storm worry every season.
ReplyDeleteHi NanE. Looks like Irene is ruining a lot of peoples weekend. I've been having some problems with the computer and blogger but think all is okay. Was finally able to retrieve me blog list so hope to visit you more. Glad all is well. Take care and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI hope all is well and you are safe. We are as ready as we can be here at my house. BTW, I'm the first 'native New Yorker' in the family, but my brother and sisters, parents and everyone for years back are from Ohio. GO BUCKS!
