Watching the Tropics

I've been watching "Irene" since before she was Irene and now it looks like she "could" be heading our way. Here is the five day forecast, bringing her right to Charleston as a category 3 hurricane Saturday morning.
If there is one thing I have learned since moving to Charleston thirty years ago, no one knows for sure where they are going until maybe 10 hours before making landfall. A lot can happen between now and Saturday, so we'll keep watching and in a few days, decide what we need to do if anything!

  4. I know just what you mean, Nan! This is definitely the time to keep watch on those storms, even the tropical storms, not just the hurricanes. Let's hope Irene heads further East and doesn't make landfall at all!

  6. I wish she would come closer to Texas and leave just a dab of rain. Do not want storms anywhere.

  7. I hope she's not a hurricane any longer by the time she gets to Charleston. But I really hope we at least get rain from this.

We were in Charleston years ago and I still remember the signs of damage that remained from a hurricane.

  10. I hope all is well and you are safe. We are as ready as we can be here at my house. BTW, I'm the first 'native New Yorker' in the family, but my brother and sisters, parents and everyone for years back are from Ohio. GO BUCKS!
