Vintage Planters

I adore vintage Planters but I only have four, something I would really like to change in the near future. I've already shown you the first two but since I have new readers, I thought I would show them again.
First up this little RED Vintage Santa Planter. I found him at a local thrift store a few months ago.

I love the little fur trim! Here's a view from the side.

Next, this little pink squirrel Planter. I found him at an antique store over the Summer.

I love this next Planter! Two years ago I went home to Ohio for a visit. My sister and I were playing tourist in Amish country when we stumbled on this amazing junk store. They had the coolest vintage things from printer trays to Planters and really good prices on everything! I picked up this little cow for around $8.00.

Last year we made our annual trip back to Amish Country and this store was tops on our list of stops but much to our disappointment, it was closed for the day. Now I could kick myself for not buying more when I had the chance. Most of the planters ranged in price from $6 - $15.
This next Planter is very special to me because my Dad gave it to me. I think he picked it up at an auction in a box of junk. I love the sweet, innocent look on the deer's face.

Well that's my entire vintage Planter collection, small but hopefully growing.
Be sure and stop by on Friday for my Birthday Blog-a-palooza where everyone will get a gift!

WHEN I GO TO ESTATE SALES OR GARAGE SELLS I AM ALWAYS LOOKING THROUGH THINGS IN THE GARAGE AND IN BOXES PUSHED WAY UNDER THINGS....AND WHEN NOONE IS AROUND I WILL ASK THEM IF THEY HAPPEN TO HAVE ANY PLANTERS THEY WOULD LIKE TO SALE....4 OUT OF 6 TIMES THEY DID BUT DIDN'T THINK ABOUT PUTTING THEM IN THE SALE.
    HAVE A SUGAR SWEET DAY

  7. Hi, Nan! The deer planter is my fav, too! I've started collecting vintage nursery planters. I just love the pastels.

I've been to all sorts of Amish places because my Daughter in law was Amish until she was 14! Funny story from her childhood: Her family had tried with no success to give away their kittens until her da put up a sign reading: *AMISH Kittens*. Then they went like hot cakes!

Guess what? I'm joining Rednesday today so please come on by! ♥

  17. Great planters. The squirrel one looks like it could be a McCoy. I only have a few planters, but I see a lot of them in the antique stores around here. Mostly baby-ish planters. if I could grow another room on my house, I'd start collecting them.

  31. I would like to say that for any lovers of vintage planters, I have MANY for sale - if you are interested, let me know. I live in Indianapolis, IN. I too love them but I have too many at this point - can't resist!

  32. The little pink squirrel planter is my favorite! If you or your family ever want to part with it, I'm an interested buyer! :)

  33. The squirrel planter is probably a Shawnee planter. A good start for the other pieces would be checking Royal Copley and Royal Windsor. In the mid 20th century alot of pieces were made for Woolworth's.

  34. I have the same love of planters. I have that little pink squirrel one you have. I was looking for another for symmetrical design. I can see I am not the only one!!! Love to you! God Bless!
